About me

I am currently a live news reporter for Express.co.uk, covering the biggest news stories for one of the UK's largest newspapers.

I manage multiple live blogs per shift and also source, pitch and write exclusives alongside my daily role. 

I have a gold standard NCTJ including 100 wpm shorthand from News Associates, the UK's top journalism school. 

As part of my NCTJ training I undertook a placement at Manchester based publication, The Manc, sourcing and writing stories relevant to the local community.

I have a particular interest in writing about social, political and environmental issues as well as human interest stories and have done freelance work for an abundance of publications, for example, Shout Out UK and The Financial Wellbeing Forum. 

I am a graduate of The University of Manchester, where I achieved a 2:1 in BA (Hons) English Literature and American Studies. During my time at university I was heavily involved in the university's newspaper - The Mancunion - and wrote extensively for their Opinion section. I also spent a semester of my time at University studying abroad at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA

Outside of writing I enjoy travelling, yoga and reading. I particularly enjoy dystopian fiction and am fascinated by other cultures.
